Route 66’s Fun Run Kingman AZ
This years Route 66s Fun Run Kingman AZ will be the 29th year since inception. Attendance is expected to surge because it is the Mother Road’s 90th anniversary for Historic Route 66.
This year’s Fun Run will begin in Seligman with stops in Kingman and Topock/Golden Shores. The event runs from April 29th through May 1st 2016. The Fun Run is not time and it’s a 140 mile pleasure cruise of classic and custom vehicles. There will be live music and a car parade through Seligman on the 29th. The first leg of the journey begins at 10am on April 30. The route will take drivers along old route 66 from Seligman to Kingman passing the Grand Canyon Caverns, Peach Springs, Truxton, Keepers of the Wild, Valentine, Hackberry and Valle Vista.
Once arriving to Kingman participants line up their cars, trucks, motorcycles etc along Andy Devine Ave and Beale Street for Viewing and judging. There are many events planned during the day at Route 66’s Fun Run Kingman AZ. Entertainment, food and museums will be open until 5pm at which point everything will shift to the Route 66 Diner and show at the Ramada Kingman.
The second leg of the journey begins the morning of May 1 heading to Topock/ Golden Shores. The scenic back road winds through Cool Springs, Gold Road, Sitgreave’s pass and Oatmen. Latter along the journey they will head down the backside of the Black Mountains and along the shores of the Colorado River. At 1pm the awards ceremonies are held and another great year is concluded.
